The adventurer’s handbook

Your first climb.

Nine familiar classes. A deck you build along the way. Start with the next turn, then learn the spire.

From the tavern to the first boss

  1. Choose a class you want to learn

Warrior uses Rage and stances, Rogue builds Combo Points, and Hunter fights beside a guardian pet. Start with a familiar mechanic, then read its class guide. The game’s card effects differ from their World of Warcraft counterparts.

  2. Read the enemy’s next move

Enemy intent tells you what needs an answer. Compare incoming damage with your health and Block before spending your energy on offense. Interrupts, Weak and control can matter as much as raw damage.

  3. Spend energy in a useful order

Most classes begin with three energy per turn. Apply a damage amplifier before your large attack, build a resource before its finisher, and leave enough energy for the defense you need. Read the card’s target and restrictions.

  4. Draft toward a plan

Rewards can strengthen a deck or make it less consistent. Take cards that solve a problem: damage against a group, protection on a dangerous turn, resource generation or a payoff you can reliably enable. The reward screen also offers “Skip card.”

  5. Adapt at the next floor

Your deck, gear, relics and potion belt work together. Check what an item actually changes before equipping it, and use the map to assess the next reachable encounter.

A lost run still teaches your character

The current source awards one talent point per five cleared floors, one per completed act and five additional points for defeating the final boss, up to a 51-point cap for each class. The floor on which a run ends in defeat does not count as cleared. Each class has three talent trees. Class levels 1, 2 and 3 add unlock cards to reward and shop pools.

Talents are game-specific run bonuses. A build from Classic WoW is not automatically a good allocation here. Inspect each rank in the talent planner, then choose bonuses that support your current approach.

Keep a copy of your save

The game stores progress locally. A different browser, profile, device or game origin has its own storage. The desktop app does not automatically share the browser version’s save.

  1. Open the game’s options with Esc and find the Save section.
  2. Select Export. Copy the entire string beginning with SPIRES1: into a file you control.
  3. To restore a backup, paste the whole string into the Save string box and select Import. Import replaces stored progress and reloads the game, so export the destination save first.

Export before clearing site data, switching devices or reinstalling. Private browsing and blocked storage can prevent a save from persisting. This guide site cannot read or recover the game’s local save.
